ALABAMA HOSTS EASTERN REGIONAL GELBVIEH SHOW

The Alabama Gelbvieh Association and the Alabama Gelbvieh Junior Association welcomed junior Gelbvieh members from nine states for the American Gelbvieh Junior Association (AGJA) Eastern Regional Heart of Dixie Classic in Huntsville, Ala. The weather and hospitality made it an excellent weekend of contests and cattle shows.

Zachary Butler of Milton, Tenn., earned Grand Champion Gelbvieh Female honors with JBOB 5498P, a September 2004 daughter of JBOB Carolina Hero 4659M ET. Butler also earned Reserve Champion Balancer Female honors with OZZ Gov Milady 10R, a January 2005 daughter of OZZ Ext Govenor 3N. Butler's winning ways continued with Reserve Champion Bred & Owned Female honors on BCFG Ms High Alert 533P, an October 2004 daughter of BTI Red Alert 2077K.

Christopher Mackey of Mars Hill, N.C., earned Reserve Champion Gelbvieh Female honors with his November 2005 daughter of WLGF Miss G2 ET.

Jack Redifer of Blacksburg, Va., won the Grand Champion Balancer Female award with HHF Miss Balance R60, a February 2005 daughter of Echo Ridge Trav 4144 355.

Taking home Champion Bred & Owned Gelbvieh Female honors was Jessica Parris of Canton, N.C., with PRRS CVDL Silk 175R4, a September 2005 daughter of GPE Widespread 3L.

Chelsey Lee of Bishop, Ga., won Champion Bred & Owned Bull honors with AGAL T2R, a September 2005 bull. Amanda Langston of Oakland, Miss., earned Reserve Bred & Owned Bull honors with AHLG Red Vapor 262R1.

Nicole Bostick of Newville, Ala., exhibited the Champion Bred & Owned Balancer Female with a November 2005 heifer calf by CPH Glacier Chateau 744.
