The American Gelbvieh Association has hired Eric Mack of Lewistown, Mont., as its Director of Activities. In this position, Mack will coordinate AGA's role with major shows, manage the Ring of Gold points program, as well as work on special commercial marketing projects like commercial female sales and feeder calf features.
Mack grew up on a ranch near Lewistown and currently has his own herd of registered Angus cattle. He has worked as a ranch hand and also done some custom fitting work with both Gelbvieh and Angus show cattle. He has extensive experience with both commercial cattle and seedstock operations.
He attended Northwest Community College in Powell, Wyo., and graduated from Montana State University in Bozeman with a bachelor's in Agricultural Business. Mack's first day on the job will be November 1 and he will base out of the AGA headquarters.
