SOUTH DAKOTA CATTLEMEN'S ASSOCIATION TO HOST 58TH ANNUAL CONVENTION & TRADE SHOW

The South Dakota Cattlemen's Association will be hosting their 58th Annual Convention and Trade Show November 29-30, 2006 at the Ramkota in Pierre. We invite all cattlemen to attend this event and take advantage of the opportunity to make your voice heard on the important issues affecting producer profitability.

Convention attendees will hear from top-notch speakers on a variety of issues from international trade to animal identification and estate planning. You won't want to miss the fun and educational sessions, followed by business meetings where SDCA members will set the organization's policy course for 2007.

Cattlemen can weigh in on the issues important to them during the policy committee meetings on Wednesday afternoon, November 29 where policy resolutions from members and local affiliates will be considered. Final policy decisions will be made by all SDCA members attending the Annual Membership meeting on Thursday afternoon, November 30.

“SDCA member participation is essential to policy development because we want to accurately represent the views of our members,'” said Mike Stahly, SDCA President.

SDCA President-Elect, Scott Jones noted, “As a grassroots organization representing a very diverse group of cattlemen and beef producers, it's imperative for individual members to participate in the policy-development process.

“All members are encouraged to attend the membership meeting and vote on policy. Any past due members may pay their dues at convention and have the opportunity to vote also,” said Stahly.
