NATIONAL BRANGUS SHOW OF MERIT HELD

The National Show of Merit Brangus Show was held in conjunction with the Louisiana State Fair, Shreveport, La. The judge for this year's event was Gordon Guilliot from Louisiana and featured cattle from Kansas, Missouri, Louisiana, Texas, Tennessee, Mississippi and Arizona.

Miss JLS Skye 789R3 captured the Grand Champion Female and Junior Champion awards for Texas breeder JLS International, Devine and is co-owned with Dillard Cattle Co., Katy, Texas. Miss JLS Clara Beth 439P was named the Reserve Grand Champion and Senior Champion Heifer for Louisiana exhibitor, Tobi Parrott, Mamou.

In the bull show, an entry owned by Justin Hillin, Waco, Texas, JH Stinger 103P2 was named Grand Champion Bull and an entry owned by Don Thomas and Son, Madison, Missouri and JLS International, Devine, Texas was named the Reserve Grand Champion Bull after winning the summer division. Lazy 3 Statesman 1005 and Broken A Red Warrior, both owned by Allen Goode claimed the Champion and Reserve Grand Champion bull titles in the Red portion and were from the calf division.

Junior Heifer Calf Champion was Miss JLS Alan 915S, owned by Lauren Parrot, Ville Platte, La. and Reserve Junior Heifer Calf Champion was Miss JLS Raven 915S7, exhibited by JLS International. Miss JLS Rose Ann 9115R25, owned by Deep Down Ranch, Creole, La. was the Champion Senior Heifer Calf, while MC Tequila Sunrise 101R, owned by Traci Middleton, Puryear, Tenn. was the reserve champion in that division. In the summer division, Ms Hillin CC Barbi 2R3-ET, owned by Justin Hillin was the champion and SBR Ms Sweet Pea 222Re, owned by Sunnybrook Farms, Jackson, Miss. was reserve. Sankeys Ms Caliente 108R, exhibited by Katy White, Red Rock, Ariz. was the Reserve Junior Champion heifer behind the champion female. Ms Backside 468P, born 10/3/04, exhibited by Allen Goode, Dallas, Texas and Derek Schultz, Franklin, Texas was the Reserve Senior Champion Heifer, while ER MS Leadtime 121P, exhibited by Allison Deshotel, Ville Platte, La. exhibited the Champion Cow-Calf.

Mr. JLS Samson 915S3, exhibited by Dillard Cattle Co and JLS claimed the Bull Calf Champion Honor, while Hillin Cattle Company's Hillin CC Lil Buck was the reserve in that division. 5CC Blackhawk 7R, owned by Stephanie Climer, Bells, Tenn.was the Senior Bull Calf Champion while Center Mr Fred 880/R24-ET owned by Wellmann Cattle Co., Brenham, Texas was the reserve. Hillin CC Rock Star 2R5, exhibited by Hillin Cattle Co. was the Reserve Summer Champion. SBR Mr. Valentino 129R, born 2/4/05, exhibited by Heather Waldrup, Jackson, Miss. took home the Champion Junior Bull title and Mr. JLS Cronus 820R-ET, exhibited by Kason Fitzpatrick, Poplarville, Miss. was the reserve. Sankeys Bruckheimer 196P, exhibited by Sankeys 6N Ranch and Diamond K Investments, LaPorte, Texas was the reserve senior winner, behind the Stinger bull.

JLS Ranch swept the group classes winning Produce of Dam: JLS Ranch, on produce of Miss JLS Tally 915M; the Junior and Senior Get of Sire honors on progeny of Odyssey of JLS, as well as the top Breeder's Herd honor.
