AMERICAN JUNIOR SIMMENTAL ASSOCIATION GEARS UP FOR WESTERN REGIONAL CLASSIC

BOZEMAN, MT.
Members of the American Junior Simmental Association are gearing up for the Western Regional Classic being held June 18-20, for the fifth consecutive year in Moses Lake, Washington, and hosted by the Washington Simmental Association.

Junior members representing four Western states, Washington, Oregon, Montana, and Idaho, will be bringing in their cattle to compete and participate in a variety of beef industry-related competitions. AJSA members are divided into novice, junior, and senior divisions according to their age and then given the opportunity to showcase their skills in various categories, including: cattlemen's quiz, public speaking, sales talk, judging contest, cattle show, and showmanship. The Regional classics are designed to provide competition and a learning experience to junior members throughout the nation and are patterned after ASA's National Classic.

Additional Regional classics will be held in the following locations: Eastern, Lawrenceville, GA, June 13-16; North Central, Kearney, NE, June 13-16; South Central, Springfield, MO, June 20-23. The National Classic will be taking place in Louisville, KY, July 9-15.

For more information on the Western Regional Classic, contact Ruth Uznay, Secretary/Treasurer for the Washington Simmental Association, at 509-935-7721.
