CHAMPIONS NAMED AT THE HOUSTON SIMMENTAL SHOW

BOZEMAN, MT. Quality was the order of the day at the Simmental open show, held February 28, at the 2007 Houston Livestock Show.

Strength in the calf divisions ultimately prevailed for the Simmental show, as both the Grand Champion Female and Grand Champion Bull were selected from the calf divisions.

In the female division, “TAMU Foxy Roxy S7502”, sired by CNS Dream On L186 and exhibited by Texas A&M University, College Station, TX, proved to be the cream of the crop, as she rose to the top and was named Heifer Calf Champion as well as Grand Champion Female. Texas A&M also exhibited the Junior Champion Heifer, “TAMU Sheza Vixon”, sired by KENCO/MF Powerline 204L.

In the Bull division excitement ran high as the Bull Calf Champion, “JDJ Shock and Awe 2S”, sired by JDJ Intimidator 080K and exhibited by Suver, RS&T, Walsh, Anderson and Special K, was awarded the ultimate honor of Grand Champion Bull. Taking the honor of Reserve Champion Bull was the Intermediate Champion Bull, “CMSU Hotbaldy”, sired by BH Tracker 998J and was exhibited by Centeal Missouri State University, Warrensburg, MO.

Parading before open judge Neely Nelson, Houston, TX, the following animals received top honors in their respective classes at the 2007 Houston Livestock Show.
