ASA BREEDERS CONFERENCES TO BE HELD IN NORTH DAKOTA & SOUTH DAKOTA
MT. -- The American Simmental Association will host a breeder conference
in North Dakota on Tuesday, April 24, at the Ramada Suites and Convention Center,
Fargo, North Dakota and in Brookings, South Dakota on Wednesday, April 25 at
the Swiftel Center. Both conferences are afternoon sessions between 2 p.m. and
ASA Executive Vice-President, Dr. Jerry Lipsey, Director of Field Services, Marty Ropp, and Director of Performance Programs, Dr.Wade Shafer, plan to present topics to Animal Science Faculty and graduate students as well as Simmental breeders. Greg Lardy, NDSU Beef Extension Specialist will speak at the North Dakota conference and Cody Wright, SDSU Extension Beef Specialist will speak at the South Dakota conference. Topics covered at both conferences include: “Current and Future State of the U.S. Beef Business”, “Comparing SimGenetics with other Seedstock Choices”, and “Tools to Make Better Cattle and Better Beef”.
