The Red Angus Association of America (RAAA) held its National Show on Sunday, January 27, 2008 at the 111th Annual Ft. Worth Stock Show and Rodeo in historic Ft. Worth, Texas. The event drew Red Angus breeders from across the country and cattle enthusiasts from throughout the Southwest. Over 200 entries competed throughout the day long competition, including members of the National Junior Red Angus Association (JRA). Allowing only youth from 21 years old and younger, the National Junior Red Angus Show, held early in the morning prior to the National Open Show, gave juniors the opportunity to show their animals in a competition amongst themselves.

The Junior Grand Champion Female was owned and exhibited by Ryan Shuey or Corning, Iowa. SLGN Duettes Summertime 672S (1112469) is a March 6, 2006 bred heifer sired by Glacier Chateau 744 and out of PIE Sams Duette 4027. Kenzie Schultz of New Baden, Texas owned and exhibited SLGN Peekaboo's Tedi 738T (1157441) and won the Reserve Junior Grand Champion Female. She is a February 7, 2007 open yearling heifer sired by SLGN Regulator 503R and out of Meado-West Peek-A-Boo.

There is also a separate division within the Junior Show called Junior Showmanship; it's designed to test the skills of the exhibitor themselves vs. the quality of the animal being shown. This is divided into two divisions, Junior (15 and younger) and Senior (16 and older). The Junior division was won by Thomas Glascock of Pilot Point, Texas while second place went to Tucker Brown of Throckmorton, Texas. In the Senior division, Ben von Forell of Wheatland, Wyo. took first and Laura Ewald of Waldorf, Minn. finished second.
