SPITZER RANCH HONORED BY BRANGUS ASSOCIATION

Spitzer Ranch, Dr. John and Patricia Spitzer, Fair Play, S.C. have been honored with the prestigious Breeder Of The Year designation by the International Brangus Breeders Association (IBBA). What began as a marriage in 1968 turned into a true partnership in a variety of livestock endeavors from stocker cattle to commercial replacement heifers to registered seedstock and a commercial broiler operation. Spitzer Ranch is best known from their 26 year history as a progressive performance advocate for the Brangus Breed and the commercial cattle industry.

Doc and Patricia are strong supporters of the Beef Industry and have both been heavily involved with the SC Cattlemen's Association, SC Farm Bureau, Southeast Brangus Breeders Association (SBBA), the International Brangus Breeders Association (IBBA) and Patricia with the S.C. Farm Woman's Forum. The Spitzers were South Carolina's Purebred Cattlemen Of The Year in 2003 and were the Poultry Federation Outstanding Poultry Grower in 1996. For three years they were co-superintendants of the Southeast Regional Junior Brangus Show and were multi-year county and state 4-H adult leaders. Doc served on the SBBA Board of Directors and as VP and President, and he recently completed two terms on the IBBA Board of Directors where he also served as Second VP, First VP and President. They were recognized for their avid promotion of the Brangus Breed; and tireless dedication to performance testing, strict adherence to data collection and marketing efforts primarily aimed at putting Brangus genetics to work to produce crossbred cows and profitable steers for the commercial cattle industry.
