Angus enthusiasts led 104 entries at the 2009 State Fair of West Virginia Roll of Victory (ROV) Angus Show, August 18 in Lewisburg, W. Va. Dale Rains, Mercer, Pa., evaluated the 81 females, 16 bulls and seven cow-calf pairs before selecting champions.
Anne Patton Schubert, Taylorsville, Ky., claimed grand champion bull with A P S Delegate. The March 2008 son of MCC Blackout 404 first won junior champion.
D V A B F Lucas McCain 810 captured reserve grand champion bull and reserve junior champion. Brittany Full, Mount Airy, Md., owns the March 2008 son of Exar Lutton 1831.
Emily Velisek, Gaithersburg, Md., led the grand champion female. Cherry Knoll Rosebud 8041 is a September 2008 daughter of H S A F Bando 1961 and first won senior calf champion.
Champion Hill Georgina 6518 was named reserve grand champion female for Thomas Lundy, Bardstown, Ky. The January 2008 daughter of S A V Bismarck 5682 first won junior champion.
Bryce Fitzgerald, West Grove, Pa., showed the grand champion cow-calf pair. Cherry Knoll Cheyenne 7031 is an April 2007 daughter of Champion Hill Edition 2029. A February 2009 heifer calf sired by MCATL Reachout 836 completes the winning duo.
Mandy Richardson, Louisa, Va., showed the reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. Champion Hill Georgina 4402 is a January 2005 daughter of G A R Integrity. A March 2009 heifer calf sired by S A V Bismarck 5682 is at side.
