Oak Creek practices a conservative approach using their Total Herd Management Program in making breeding decisions to breed efficient cattle with desirable carcass traits that thrive on forages in a hot, humid environment. This year has truly been a test with the severe drought.

This is the eighth year DNA test results have been used as a tool in breeding cattle to select genetics with desirable carcass traits and feed/forage efficiency. Bulls are also selected for good phenotype and performance, plus fertility. All bulls will be fertility tested.
