What price?

Postby Aaron » Tue Nov 01, 2016 9:57 am

What is a current fair price for your best 2016 replacement heifers? Have a fellow coming over on the weekend to pick out a couple from the entire bunch. Haven't mentioned price - other than it would be premium. Number in my head is $1000/746 US per head.

If they weigh under 550 it sounds fair, if they are bigger I'd ask a little more. Futures have rallied this week and I have seen 6 weight heifers up to 1.26 for the best ones.

5 wt @ 1.25 would be 600. If they are nice, I'd say 600

If they're the pick of the litter I think that's about right.. I heard that weight heifer around here was about $1.60 (@500# = $800) right now.. fellow gets to see their mommas etc.. sure beats buying from a sale yard

We'll I guess I am a lucky guy. He'll take one at $1200 and needs to look a 2nd time to pick out the 2nd calf. Told him he can do it when I deworm in a week.
