Good deal. I have some 550 to 6 weights I'm holding till after Thanksgiving. Hoping to add a few more pounds. I'ld be tickled to get that price.

My thoughts only, don't bet the farm on them. KT

Some people know people, who know people, who aren't very nice people and you could get a visit from them someday. So be good people.

6 and 7 wts are bringing near the same as 5 wts here. Have seen your prices here too for some of the heavier wts. That's pretty good. Good for you. Looks like they are holding here. One thing that has been commented on; cattle sales were more steady here thru the summer than they used to be, and we haven't seen but a couple of weeks where numbers were way up. So I am thinking that there might not be as many cattle around this fall and that might be holding our prices up a bit.

We sold some steers weighed right at 495 and they brought 1.63 2 weeks ago. That was nice, but have sold some heifers that were in the 1.15 range. They were nothing special, and we are getting ready to move some cattle around as grass runs out at summer pastures, so I am glad they are gone. Have some steers that were born a little later that we might hold til after the first of the year. Will just watch the market and if prices hold we might feed them for a bit; but then again, it might be wise to send them on and not have to worry with them. If we get a hard winter, them being gone would be better. Just play it by ear week to week.

Usually a big drop off in $/lb over 550, but da boys are focused are marketing fats during the higher spring market.
So should a guy be buying the lightweights?

Sold steers and best heifers for $1.55. Between 620-700 #. Sold a couple cull cows that went for 55 and 59 cents. Pretty darned happy with all that. Hope everyone is making some green this fall.

i took in 7 steers and 2 heifers.. 1 crazy eye / neck heifer (she almost died in a hayring) I took in a good heifer as well at almost 800 lbs// they both brought 1.21. I wish I would of kept her though, she was really nice.

calf crop for next year looks even better.. they are gaining so much weight with these new grasses. At my old farm with the same management these calves would of been about 100 - 150 lbs less.

Calves went thru the sale ring yesterday, I'm quite pleased. Pen of 12 773 pound steer calves brought $2.10 per pound (Canadian), and a pen of 46 696 lb steer got $2.1675, 56 640 lb steers $2.195 lb. Even the cull cows had a good day fetching $.90 / lb.
So much better than last year for sure.
