Hello, just joined up.

My great great grandpa came from Austria to Texas and his father in law from Denmark, to be cattle ranchers in South Texas. My family still owns the land in South Texas but South Texas isnt the best place to live anymore so I don't think I will live and ranch there. I grew up in San Antonio, Texas but plan to move out east somewhere like Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, etc. Once I have some money saved up I will buy some land and get a few head to start out with. Of course I will get some first hand experience first.

I figured I would go ahead and say hello now since I will probably be coming in and out to of this forum to ask questions and see what cattle ranchers are up to from time to time. Didn't wanna be a complete stranger next time I post At least people can go back and see this I guess. I don't get the internet always but will check in when I do. Thank you for the great community. :cboy:

The written exam for Alabama isn't that hard, it's the driving test that gets most people. Either way, welcome to the board.

You should consider GA. Taxes are great. Homestead exemption, conservation exemption, age exemption, etc. for property taxes. You can get the GATE card to avoid sales taxes on anything farm related. Utilities are cheap here too. Moved here from NC a few years ago. Cost of living is cheap.

Would be perfect if I was just a little further from Atlanta.
