Dying calf

Postby Julr95 » Sat Jul 22, 2017 9:35 pm

Hi guys! I'm new here. I have a 2 week old heifer and since day one she hasn't been eating as fast as the others. Well now she won't suck, and we've been giving her penicillin for pneumonia. Today we started pulling clumps of grass out of her throat. She's not swallowing well. What can I do?

Tube her with electrolytes. I'm assuming she has a temp if you're treating for pneumonia but penicillin won't help much, I would use Draxxin or Resflor Gold. Vitamin B Complex is good for energy. Personally, I'd take her to the vet.
