I bought a 5-acre hobby farm 4 years ago. The 4 1/2 acre pasture had been heavily overgrazed and overrun with brush, sticker bushes etc. I bush hogged it and killed out the bad stuff. I let lay fallow for a year. Then I fertilized it in the fall. The next year I had a neighbor bale the grass. He got 18 big round bales.
The first of Feb. I bought 4 Black Angus 4-month-old weaned heifers around 350# each. I bunk fed them grass hay 3 times a day with Neutra Transitional feed 2# each twice a day for a month. This month I changed to Neutra Grower/Finisher and Alfalfa. I intended to sell them as replacement heifers sometime next fall.
Does anyone have any advice or comment?

Sounds like you know what you're doing.
Nothin' prettier than a red Ford truck, a Massey Ferguson tractor and a red-n-white Hereford sittin' on the farm.
