How y’all doin?

Post by haulinbass02 » Sun Jan 27, 2019 5:25 am

Guys and gals, I’m new around this board, just getting into raising stockers up to market weight for my own freezer. Well mine and a few friends that are splitting costs with me.
First calf is a Jersey steer I got in August as a weaned 4 month old weighing 260 lbs. he’s filling out nicely on hay and feed right now and my plan is to send him packing in July.
Second is a strange situation that I’ve already posted about in the Breeds board. I have a possible 3 year old full black Angus heifer that we got at an unknown weight early last month. Due to her age and research I’ve done, I figured she was well into feeder range and would be ready to go packing by mid to late Feb. so that’s the plan with her.
I’m going to be hitting up the sale barn next month for a stocker steer and then again in the fall and will be splitting the next few beeves in half with one other family for the near future. We both have 8 mouths to feed so we need all the meat we can get!
