im a young bloke from south east australia, ill be finishing school this year and wandering off to Ag college to chase up some experience and gain some know-how in the cattle industry next year. My hopes n dreams are consumed by a desire to own my own land, breed nice cattle that look like big dumplings and breed my own dogs (kelpies). As the college year is only bout 20 weeks long ill spend half my time over the next 3 years shearing sheep(because the minimum wage for a shearer over here is mebbe $200 a day and if your fast enough you can get double that) i have already talked my mum around and she will let me manage our smaller property( which is 140 acres and has 3 dams)when i return . i hope to stock this property with murray greys which i think are one of them most quietest breeds of cattle ive come across and do well under these conditions.i have 3 dogs though only 2 of them can work, i also own 16 sheep, which are being sold in 2 weeks.
i reckon i can learn alot from this site and hopefully i wont get sick of it.

If your interested in murray's Springer Farms and msscamp are two extremely knowledgable members on the board that run them.
Sounds like your well on your way; with you going to college, having the side job, and starting to take care of your mom's property.

Welcome from Lower Alabama. I doubt if you'll get sick of this board, unless you get sick of learning
