newcomer from the northeast

Postby shutskytj » Fri Feb 03, 2006 7:15 am

Hey guys and gals it has been a pleasure to read these post and gather all the valuable information everyone has been providing these past months, and now I want to introduce myself. I am from Ct. and raise both Herefords and Angus, Angus because of my wife but I have grown to love them I just know more about the Hereford breed and still trying to learn alot about the Angus genetics. We raise them to show in the northeast region and have been showing for about 20 years. In Ct. most of the breeders are either Angus or Hereford, but it is amazing how many breeders up here are switching from Hereford to Angus. Again hello as I have become addicted to this post and read almost everyday

I really hate to hear that. Hopefully the Hereford powers that be would hurry and do something to keep their numbers from going downhill. They are the best or second best beef breed around along with the Angus.

la4 I know it, but I am experiencing better profits and prices for my Angus up here. Some are switching totally but others are just adding the breed to there program like me. I will always have my herefords. Actually the NE Hereford show is still bigger and better than the Angus show. We get over 100 enteries for the show.
