NEW guy here in Oklahoma

Postby Limomike » Thu Feb 16, 2006 8:20 am

Hello, and I wanted to say, I am very glad I found this site. I have basically inherited a herd of 21 cows (Beefmaster & Santa Gertrudis mostly) and a 3 yr old Black Limo polled bull. I have actually been feeding them for over 5 years, as well as assisting with the usual chores. It is great to know others who are here to help and with the knowledge that I seek at times.
Thanks to all.

Hi Mike. My husband and I are also new to the cattle business and have recently bought a small ranch in Bennington, Ok. We have mostly angus. Although we have been working with family stock for many years, this is our first herd, and of course, all of the strange things happen to us!! What part of Oklahoma do you live in?

I am in the northeastern part of the state... close to Claremore.
And yes, I do very well with the LIMO X & Gert. The blacks do very well, as with most breeds.
