DOES ANYONE KNOW IF PIEDMONTESE CATTLE HAVE BEEN SHOWN AT FFA AND 4H STOCK SHOWS? AND IF SO HOW WERE THEY ACCEPTED COMPAIRED TO THE MORE COMMON BREEDS?

Hello: I know of a breeder in OHio whose Grandkids show Pieds at their fair and do very well in the carcass classes. I think there is still a fair amount of prejudice for the black hides in the halter classes. There is also a gal in Missouri that has done great with her Piedmontese in their 4H & FFA. I would think alot would depend on the region you are showing in. You can check out more information at http://www.pauscattle.org . This is a great breed and I expect their popularity will do nothing but grow. ONce someone has tasted the beef it is hard to criticise them and they cross very well too.
Best of luck to you.
