Hi we are new here and are dairy farmers. Looks like most of you have beef cattle? Am I wrong?

Welcome!

Most people on here have beef cattle. But there is still a wealth of information here for dairy cattle.

Thanks for the welcome. My wife Linda and I have about 400 also and are currently moving the dairy to a new site with a new parlor that will open at 500 and hopefully grow to 1000 someday.

Welcome! Whereabouts in WI are you? My aunt and uncle had a small dairy & beef operation years ago near Tigerton which is near Wausau & Stevens Point. Got my feet wet there.

Barron County here. :) Did you just build or buy the new dairy from someone else? My boss also plans to expand to 1000 by 2009.

Basics needed to answer questions: age, weight, breed, sex. # affected vs # in group, feed type/amount, prior vaccinations, deworming, antibiotics, any recent changes....

More info = better answers.
