Long time lurker first time poster.

Postby J & B Farms » Tue Apr 04, 2006 8:41 am

I've been watching this site for a few weeks now and figured it was about time I started posting. I was born and raised on a small farm in sw Missouri a little town by the name of Nevada. I am 34 and work in construction so I can pay for my cattle hobby. I started 3 years ago buying a few "junk" cows getting them back in shape and calving them out. As cheap as feed is and as high as the calves have been selling for it hasn't been to bad, up to 15 head so far. My goal is to have a 100 good comercial cows that are paid for buy the time I retire. By the way you guys have a great site.

Welcome...look forward to your posts. At your age you should be well on your way....buy quality, cull hard and fast and set your direction and you'll have your herd before you realize it.

Welcome J&B. I bought some of the best cows you will ever see a few years back from Wainscott Bros. in Nevada. They are great milkers and framey black cows. How's the water there? My dad used to do some of the oil field work there.

Women and cats are going to do what they want, men and dogs would be wise to accept this.
