This spinach was planted March 10th. It grew so fast it shaded out the henbit and chickweed which I've never seen anything do before.

White sauce pizza with spinach? Great idea!! I'm thinking I've got to do that for supper.

I wish I had some of your sweet peas simmered in half and half with butter but looks like we'll have to wait a while on that. :D

Those look pretty small, so three each sounds about right. :lol2:

Got in too late this evening to make the pizza. I'll do it in the next few days and post a pic.

Thanks, I love the stuff. I've always planted it in the fall of the year and it usually does ok, but nothing like this. I think this might be my first time planting in the spring and it dominates all. The only reason I planted it this spring was because I planted the same bed last fall and by December it was choked out by henbit and chickweed.

my garden this afternoon looked better than it has in 3 years, but (there's always a but round here) we are supposed to get a heck of a lot of rain and windy T-storms over the next 3 days. Tornado warnings already up about 35 miles west of here and Houston may see 10" of rain between now and wed morning.

Maybe when I get back home from work I can get a dry day. I'm still nervous about putting a garden there again this year after the deer ate it all up last year. How do yall keep the deer out? I'm thinking a hot wire on a solar charger hot enough to put a bull on his butt.

Had the same problem a couple of years ago. We put some of those toilet bowl deodorizers (the round, crystal things that hang on the rim of the bowl) around the garden and the deer never came back. Don't know if the bowl thingies really worked or if someone shot the deer. Either way we managed to harvest the crop.
