We grew spuds for 2 years, and then gave it up. Too much weeding, too much watering for the time we have to work with. We got a couple hundred pounds a year -- too much for the 2 of us, so you know the rest of that story . . . gave them away, or someone else used them as seed the next year. It doesn't bother me to go buy a couple bags of spuds a month.

Sure, you can buy them for less but you don't get that homegrown flavor. Good looking crop, sky!

Now, if your talking tomatoes . . . that's a whole different topic. We weed/pamper and cannot find any better than what we grow. For spuds, we are next door to the best spuds in the country.

We grow spuds for the non common variety, fingerlings (russian and rose), some purple just for kicks and yukon golds.

Sky, your gonna have a truck load of spuds.

An associate in Mattawa used to dig "tests" when I was picking up hay (we would keep the potatoes). He'd dig 5' of row and figure if it was time to dig up the whole field.

You got that right I will have to eat them 1500 different ways lol I tried a experiment with fertilizer that paid off and I will do that again next year.

Diggin' might be easier if you'd graze it down a bit first. :lol2: :lol2: :hide:
