Bull puberty

Postby garyws » Sun Sep 17, 2017 4:06 pm

I have two baby bulls aged 5 months. At what age can they get a female pregnant? They are black angus and are very healthy. I don't want to separate them from the rest of the herd until I have to, but I don't want them to breed accidentally. How should I manage this situation? Thanks!

Some bulls may be mature at 5 months
Some may take 12 month's.
If you don't want him breeding your cows either separate him or cut his nuts off.

Under 7 months unusual but possible, 8 months highly probable.
You can wait until after Yom Kipper, but you'll want to have them separated by Halloween at the latest. :)
