She has grown a bit

Postby wbvs58 » Sat Jan 06, 2018 4:39 am

This is Starlet, she was born 4 wks early back in early June and weighed just 18kg (39.6lbs), she didn't have any assistance except from her Mum and today when I weighed them she was my heaviest heifer at 291kg (641.5lbs). I think she has done well. She is by Conneally Earnan.

Here is a video which I posted previously of her soon after she was born.

Yes two calves previously she had her only bull calf and he was a bit greedy, he kept drinking and she just kept making more milk for him, he ended up weaning at 454kg, born mid July and weaned end of Feb.

This will be the 5th heifer I have from her and have kept them all so she will move out when I wean this calf, hopefully find her a good home, still a lot of calves in her yet.

Good calf and good plan with mom.

We have been in the process of getting the age of our herd down so we have a group of useable 8 and 9 year olds for sale every year. They are finally catching on after 4 years.
