All these people paying big money to watch it may see nothing but clouds.

It would be cool to see, but I'm not going to go out of my way for it.. I've seen a couple lunar eclipses and they were pretty cool.

I'm supposed to be traveling that day. I'm nervous about it thinking they'll be a lot of fools on the road. More than usual. Trying to look at it instead of drive.

Has anyone else heard that a couple of schools are giving students Monday off (must be early starting schools)
saying they aren't equipped to protect all students viewing the sun during the eclipse and fear possible lawsuits?

Today there was a traffic jam in Oregon on highway 26 east of Prineville that was 15 miles long!!!! That is a road that on a normal Thursday you would pass a car going the other way about once every 4 or 5 miles. Aerial pictures showed a solid line of camp trailers and motor homes. People racing out to get the prime camping spot in the eclipse area before the rush shows up.

ive seen one little food vender trailer set up in a parking lot, and that's about it. I guess our rush won't start today.

Yeah school here is closed Monday heck most of everyone is closed. Wanting to get my truck all looked over before a trip and even the mechanic is closed Monday. Everyone is putting signs up charging for parking or posting private property. The UK Farm here in Princeton is putting gates up everywhere to keep people off their farm roads. I haven't done anything different. Brother says I need to shut all the gates and lock them but haven't yet. He has to work though with him having a job at the Prison Farm. After all someone has to watch the prisoners.

One school system north of here closed. I don't see whay they can't just keep them inside and watch it on NASA channel. That's what our school is doing. I didn't think it was going to be that big of a deal but we were going to get some glasses to look at it Wednesday at a library program. The program started at 1130 and there were people lined up at 9 waiting to get in. We didn't get to see the program. Every Walmart around it out. My wife yesterday to another library that was giving them away and found there were people lined up there also.

I remember the last one that came through here in 1970. It was on a Saturday and me and my dad were in the direct path and in a boat fishing for shad on the Ogeechee river near Blitchton, Ga. and caught nothing. As soon as it gets dark it starts getting light again, like a small cloud passing in front of the sun. I didn't have any special glasses and looked at it for a couple of seconds and didn't go blind. I don't think it had an effect on anything.

The doves went to roost, the cows went to graze, and the crickets did chirp. Pretty cool watching the Jets and Planes flying around checking it out. Did see a few stars.

Takes a lot to impress me, but that was amazing. I see why so many traveled to be in the path. Cows were already out grazing, and never checked up. I heard one moo, and the old rooster crowed one time. All traffic had stopped, and was spooky quiet. The darkness wasn't as dark as I had imagined, but the color leading to it was a weird yellowish green. Came to the house to see it with my wife. Some weird wavy lines/shadow ran across the patio.

Our security light came on for about 15 minutes.
