Top 3 Favorite Things your Dog or Pet Love

Postby FlyingLSimmentals » Wed Feb 10, 2016 11:12 am

Dave my Australian Shepherd's top 3 I think are:
1) Catching a Ball. Would keep going and going until he dropped dead if you don't take it away and hide it.
2) Deer. I love watching and hunting them. Dave loves to chase them. I keep him kenneled up a lot, or in the house, or truck. He'll tear the truck apart or try his darnest to bust the glass door at the house to chase those deer. Mention the word deer and you can tell he's interested.
3) Uncle Jr. Something about him he loves more than anybody still haven't figured that out. Maybe the way he scratches or pets him go figure.
Could come up with plenty more that he is crazy about but those seem to be the top three.

Our old pit bull follows mom everywhere and doesn't take her eye off of her. My weiner dog jumps into my coat to stay warm and be petted. And our 3 legged dog swimming after the geese is always good for a laugh.

For our Australian Cattle Dogs the list would be as follows (probably in order too!):
1. Eating dead, rotten, stinky dead things. Extra points if you can sneak it in the house with you!
2. Rolling in afore mentioned dead things and any other species' shyt. Bonus points if it is super slimy and you can get it all over someone else with a nice drive by!
3.Mud holes/water. Nuff said.
4.Riding-shotgun in the Semi, on the center counsel of the truck, on any part of the 4 wheeler they can get on, in the tractor cab, they just wanna go with!
5. Chasing cats. They just really hate varmits and think cats are varmits, can't blame them for that one!

Tried to make my list only 3 things, but I guess you could make items 1,2 and 3 into one!

I've got one that you blokes can't top and that is mine love chasing kangaroos. Unfortunately I lost my great companion
Kelpie, Bo late last year going off after a roo, she would only go after a single roo if she sensed there was something wrong with it she had unbelievable instincts like that. She went off after a large male walleroo and never returned. She may have been shot on a neighbours place or maybe staked herself racing after it in some pretty rough rocky country, I never found her. Lots of stories of walleroos luring dogs into water and drowning them but she was too smart for that always kept a safe distance. My other Kelpie Jed is not as smart, I have pulled him unconscious out of the arms of a large male walleroo.
Back to favourite things, Bo just loved rolling in cow $hit. She had very strong hunting instincts and always kept a good coating of $hit on her I think it was to camoflage her scent. Whenever I put an electronic collar on her she would show me what she thought of it by immediately by insulating herself from it by wiping a fresh pile of $hit around it.
And the third thing they love to do and what they live for is to help me with the cattle.

I definitely can't top the kangaroos. Sorry to hear about Bo. I'd say there's a whole lot more things that can get them over there. I always thought about crocs and all the poisonous snakes. I never thought about kangaroos, but that makes sense. I'd sure hate to get thumped by one of them.

Boone my old Border Collie top 3 would be:
1) Getting Petted. Would be sure to get your attention for a pat or scratch.
2) Truck Rides. Can't have too many.
3) Eating and Looking for new baby calf manure. Just plain nasty.
