Take those cabbage by the head and rotate them back and forth to break the ''hair'' or feeder roots. they take up enough nutrients from the big tap root to keep but not enough to grow fast and split :cowboy: My Grandma used to do this to spread the cabbage season before they sold much fresh produce in the store.

Sounds like a good tip. I'll try that myself cause I need to find some way to keep them from all coming in at the same hour.

2nd batch of chow chow but this one has 1lb of Jalepeno peppers in it so should have a " lil heat" and I plan on adding cayenne pepper or dried habenero peppers should be a good topping for burgers. I mixed all ingredients together and put some salt on top I will drain the water of of it and rinse the veggies then cook tomorrow.

I can see this thread drifting back to the famous "Peter Pepper". :lol2:
