I worked a job down in Karne City once and the area around there is the original Polish settlement in Texas--1850s.
Panna Maria Church--the tall steeple was covered in what looked like copper sheet when I saw it--it's a tall one.

Not far from there is Cestohowa, another Polish settlement from the late 1800s. Their church. Evidently the Poles liked tall steeples.
