Tornadoes - I get that, been hit twice (but they're not just in KS/OK). Spiders? Nothing like the ones I saw when we lived in AZ & TX. But if mama's not happy ain't nobody happy! Best of luck in your search!

Just spiders in general LOL, was just mentioning her top two fears. Thanks! Going to need a little luck along the way on this one

Yep, eastern Oklahoma is no good to move to. I can see why it was the 48th state. Too cheap and too high of stocking rate

Nice place in central TX. Small town about 35 miles from Waco. Not cheap but in good shape.

Yes very nice, but we are looking for a better stocking rate.

Look at Vale Oregon. I looked at several places there when I was searching. They were affordable. There is a sale barn and several vets. It is on the edge of crop ground to the east and big cattle country to the west. Minutes to Ontario which is large enough for a big hospital an Boise Idaho isn't far away. No tornadoes or hurricanes. Low humidity so even the hot days don't seem that hot. Reasonably mild winters, snow generally only lasts a few weeks (this last year was the exception). No more spiders than anywhere else. Water comes through a ditch. A soil that only produces 3 ton per acre is considered a poor soil.

Yup that'd suck to actually buy a place the cows could pay for.
Only problem I have is the ticks and chiggers.
Clear them out and I'll be there before sundown.

Where ever you look, check the politics of the state and area before deciding. While it may not seem all that important, when people with an agenda that is totally contrary to yours take charge, you will want to leave

You're absolutely right, we've been looking into that as well. So if anyone has any insight on states, especially KY, TN, OH, IN, AR, it'd be great to know what's cooking.

With coastal bermuda that place will run a lot more than 1 cow per 4 acres. Heck it rains there just about every week.

It is against our Indiana state constitution to take on any debt. We also never have a state budget, since we don't buy it if we can't afford it. Last I heard, we had a surplus of a couple hundred million, and reserves over two billion. Hopefully we can afford to buy Illinois with our savings some day when the last of their leaders go to prison.....except for Chicago and East St. Louis. Indiana would look good with more waterfront property. :cowboy:
