A couple of years ago we had this in the area. They were saying that if you found any dead rodents to call a number and they would test them. So, I found a dead rodent, called the number and they couldn't have given two hoots. Love government agencies sometimes....

Back when I was trapping coyotes they had people send in blood samples from the yotes. The were testing for the plague. I knew a guy who caught a couple that tested positive over around Yakima. That was back in the 80's.

Have used when a very strong antibiotic was needed and it worked.
