do you raise Longhorn???[/quote]

I do no not have cattle right now. I am planning to start a herd, but I was raised on a ranch in Texas and have some experience with Texas Longhorn cattle.

Longhorn heifers can be bred as early as 9 months. I would suggest breeding them at a year old, though.

Hi. I think realistically if you want to keep some home bred daughters thats a fair choice. But why not put the best terminal sire over your current cows, sell the entire drop of calves and put that money into a good line of straight bred or first cross heifers of your breed choice? Thatbwould get you into some quality cows cheaply and quickly.
