I might be in your neck of the woods tomorrow evening Sky if the permits go through. I have a big track-hoe loaded that needs to go about an hour east of Roanoke. I made the trip twice last week and there was definitely some mountains but I don't recall any 8% grades. I took 77S to 460 to 81 to 220E to 40E. It was a really scenic drive.

Nice I am 3 hrs away from Roanoke but I grew up outside of Roanoke which is where the mountain I was on called bent mountain. Have you been up there?

On 220 you kinda go through a low area of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Not a bad trip.

It was a really nice trip the second time I took it, the first time I followed my GPS on my phone and I had a pretty stretched out tractor and some 60' pipe on a 53' flatbed, it sent me on 118 I believe, and by the time I came to the 'not recommended for tractor trailers' signs there was no turning back, major cutbacks and sharp turns up and down the hills, I was ready to abandon the truck and hitchhike home. I made it though. Next trip I researched much better and it was much more enjoyable. Virginia still won't issue us a permit for the hoe I have on a trailer now.

I don't think I've been on bent Mountain sky, the closest town I saw near our site was Penhook.

Thanks Kenny, I will do. Permits just went through for the the hoe I'm hauling down to Virginia so I'm leaving in the morning, I'll be taking 77 into WV to 460 to 81 to 220 to 40 into the boonies. Should be a nice trip as long as I don't blow a tire. Permit says 55mph top speed so should be a 10 hr drive. I'll probably stay near Roanoke on the way home if I can find a decent spot with rig parking.

Thank you Jeanne, it was brutal. We walked about 500 miles and I spent at least a weeks pay but it was well worth it. I also got a scuff on my rear bumper from city driving but I think it will buff out. We are in Connecticut for my cousin's wedding now. Great road trip.

Been delivering a load a week of non-gmo corn to an Amish feed mill. I figured they'd grow their own. I see some interesting stuff. A fat Amish guy just drove by on an old 830 JD pulling a horse trailer with a horse in it. I didn't get my phone out fast enough but it was funny "believe me"(Trump voice)

How hard is it to find non-gmo seed? I have been told it is very difficult.
