Another school shooting

Postby Bigfoot » Tue Jan 23, 2018 10:08 am

This is in Marshall county, not far from here. Few details out yet. More injured, than this report says.

This is very sad, I can't imagine why anyone does this type of thing.

Very said. I remember the last one in Kentucky well, as I was working Juvenile Correction in that state.

Michael Carneal opened fire on a group of praying students. He spent time in Northern Kentucky Youth Development Center until his 18th birthday then was transferred to Kentucky State Reformatory in La Grange . A couple of our staff transfered from KSR to our facility.

Not very far from here either. It's so sad and terrible. They're in my prayers! My mom works at a school system and I can't imagine the worry and fear parents and family members have with news of a school shooting. I'll be happy when mom goes ahead and retires.

Wish we could go back to the days when kids in school only had to worry about dying at their desks from tornadoes or the Russkies....

So sad that this happens. Some troubled people in this world.
I have done work in that school, that is a very large open area that it happened in.
Prayers for all involved.

All I had to worry about in school was being bored to death. ....until the Desegregation school policy. Then it was as close to war as I've ever been, they didn't want to be there, and we didn't want them there.

The really frustrating part is there is nothing that can be done to totally prevent these type of things if someone really wants to do it. Proper training among staff can get students to the safest place possible in a timely manner and shorten the duration of the event once it starts, but nothing can totally stop it. Someone might be stopped within seconds, but a lot of damage can be done in those few seconds. That’s very sad.
