I'm using a Dell Inspiron laptop, updated Windows 10, Windows Defender. Did not have any issues, with anything, 'til the other day when I couldn't get to the boards, and once that was 'fixed' and I was able to get to the boards, all this other nonsense came with it.

Not able to activate the heart button, when I quote someone, I try to put certain text in bold, but it won't. Emoticons don't work.

Buttons may not work but you still use tags.

Only thing strange thats happened to mine in a long time is that all of sudden I have no back button when using chrome. Switched to Firefox and everything is fine.

When you quoted my post look at the brackets around the word bold.

All the emoticons and the rectangles above the reply box are just links to preset ubb code.
You can always type in the code yourself.
In the following screenshot I sewed together, you can see what the code for BOLD is as well as the code for POPCORN.
Popcorn is pop with a colon before and after it.

In Chrome, you would right click on the smiley and choose 'inspect'.
In IE, right click and choose 'properties'.
sad= colon and left parenthesis
Devil=colon devil2 colon.
You can also right click, choose copy image address, paste it into the reply and put the img tags before and after. (I have left the bracketed img and /img off the link below)

Simple problem, not so simple fix. I'm adding Classified Ads back to the site. The new software requires PHP 7.x and this forum won't run on 7.x so when I changed if wouldn't access the database. Finally figured out how get the forum back on PHP 5.4 but the cache on the forum was still directing it to 7.x so I deleted the cache. That fixed the database problem but caused all of your above problems. The cache on your device is looking for a file in the forum cache that is no longer there.

I will continue to work on a fix.
