May a Christian woman post in this thread?

A Christian woman is to be quiet in all workings of the Church. She is to be learned but only criticize in private. Is the book of Ester the only book about a woman in the bible.

My bible has the "Book of Judith". But there are many stories about women in the bible. Some great people some not so great but all with a reason for being.

The Book of Judith is not included in the Protestant or Jewish Scriptures, perhaps because of its sexual content. Perhaps readers found its irony hard to swallow: Judith is a virtuous woman but also a murderess, and the basic message of her story is that the end justifies the means.

TN Cattle Man wrote:For those of you who may be going through some tough times... as we ALL do from time to time. I will always turn to the book of Job. My favorite scripture of all time is about how Job responds after all that he has went through... He still Longs for God!

Job 23:9-11

…When He acts on the left, I cannot behold Him; He turns on the right, I cannot see Him. "But He knows the way I take; When He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold. "My foot has held fast to His path; I have kept His way and not turned aside.…

Just remember that God is in control of your life if you let him... and no matter what you are going through, you will come forth as gold!

Good Stuff!

Thank you for sharing. That is great advice

“There’s a stream of trouble across my path;
It is black and deep and wide.
Bitter the hour the future hath
When I cross its swelling tide.
But I smile and sing and say:
’I will hope and trust alway;
I’ll bear the sorrow that comes tomorrow,
But I’ll borrow none today.’

“Tomorrow’s bridge is a dangerous thing;
I dare not cross it now.
I can see its timbers sway and swing,
And its arches reel and bow.
O heart, you must hope alway;
You must sing and trust and say:
’I’ll bear the sorrow that comes tomorrow,
But I’ll borrow none today.”’

The eagle that soars in the upper air does not worry itself as to how it is to cross rivers.

Beware of those whose faith is based on their own ideas, feelings, and what they think is right - rather than on what God's Word says!

2 Timothy 2:15
Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.

It was in the jewish canon of scripture 150 years before the birth of Christ. The jews who chose Barabbas of Jesus changed the canon in the 1st century AD. Not believing in the Holy Spirit I suppose the felt that had that authority. It was only deleted from the protestant canon 1700 years later. Song of Solomon is pretty sexual as well.

1 Corinthians 13:1-7

13 If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don’t love, I’m nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate.

2 If I speak God’s Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, “Jump,” and it jumps, but I don’t love, I’m nothing.

3-7 If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love.
( The Message)
Rarely to I use this translation, however, it was used in a song and I meditate on these verses almost daily. "Bankrupt without love". That puts an undeniable stinging reminder in everything we do, believe or say.

1 Corinthians 15:33
"Do not be misled;bad association spoils useful habits."

And to add to what Rockridge posted:
1 John 4:8
"He who does not love, has not come to know God, beacuse God is Love."

Psalm 46:10

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”

Just when i think i have it figured out, a curve ball comes from out of nowhere. I am then reminded...

Isaiah 55:8-9

8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.

And this is the why we cannot "prove" or understand God by reason of intellect.
