solar well pump

Postby oscarsteve » Thu May 25, 2017 11:06 am

I've qualified for some cost-sharing through NRCS here in GA. This will include a well that I really want/need in order to get my cows out of their current water source (a small pond down in the woods) and will allow me to better manage my grazing. Rather than getting EMC to run a powerline for the well, I'm considering a solar powered pump, even though NRCS won't pay for it (but they won't help pay for running the powerline either). Do any of you have any experience with solar powered pumps for livestock needs? If so, any recommendations on these? Pros/cons? Thanks
