lather, rinse, repeat

I'm sure the manufacturer would like you to use it all, but one dose should get the beneficial bacteria colonies going again and they will continue to multiply and take it from there. You could give a second dose in 5 or 6 days or save it for the next calf. But you will want to use it all before it expires and no danger in giving too much.

Very similar to yogurt. Anytime I needed to give 'probiotics' to one of my bottle calves I've used plain or vanilla yogurt (must have live/active cultures). Activia is also a good source.

Thanks, yes ,I used to give yogurt but read somewhere that it does not have enough live cultures to do much.
Was for a bottle calf then and my vet told me to put I think 1 Tablespoon in each bottle.
That's why I was thinking that probios should be given every day for a few days.
But maybe that's the difference, it's stronger so need less??

Yes it is good for people, but the manufacturing standards for animal use and human use are different.

Google DDS-1 UAS LABS
dds-1 is a patented strain of Lactobacillus Acidophilus
I knew Dr. Dash the founder of UAS Labs very well, I believe in 2014 he sold the company and retired.

They produce both animal products and human products based on the DDS-1 line.
We used their baby calf product in the 1980's and it worked very well in bottle calves.
I tried the human line in capsule form, can't say it did me any good, but didn't do me any harm either and it did win
a couple nutrition supplement awards.

I would recommend the dds-1 line for both calf use and human use.
But stick with human line for your own use as the environment for any human product is required to be more closely monitored than animal products.
