Heifer down after calving

Postby AKE » Wed Apr 25, 2018 8:13 am

Had a heifer have a calf this morning that I had locked up in barn and she had the calf just fine. Now she is having trouble standing up. Seems like one of her back legs is not cooperating right. She is sitting up and I gave her water. Curious if I should try to give her any type of medicine. Thanks

If she were mine I would give her a B12 shot and a shot Of DEX . It will help with swelling

A shot of Multimin 90 isn't a bad idea either. Usually just takes a little time and she'll come around.

She finally stood up and kind of started to move around this morning. I had given her a shot of Dex
