Anyone else ever forget to put the drain plug back in the oil pan and start filling oil? Yep, did that one once... To my credit I didn't drive off with no oil in the engine.
What about putting a chainsaw chain on backward? I noticed really quickly, but it was one of those brain fart moments

Got truck stuck in mud. Opened the door to look back, put it in reverse and hammered it.

Not buying Micro Soft at the IPO. Had a guy trying to get me to buy and I had the money. Later I figured every $2,000 would have turned into a million.

I don't think marrying your second wife without divorcing the first would have been a great idea y'know ;)

A freind of mine has been married 5-6 times. 3 of those to his first wife. They've been together now for over 20 years (this time)

Farming wise my biggest mistake was not buying a new tractor 25 years ago.

I have pages of dumb stuff involving women, alcohol, fire, strippers, things with motors and guns but I didn't think that is what this thread was really about.

Brute it took a long time but I've learned that when tempted to buy something I really can do without, if I'll put it off a few hours or until the next day I'll usually not buy it.

I'm amazed how many farm trucks I see with missing or badly damaged tail gates. Dang it's hard to let that tail gate down before backing up to or pulling away from a gooseneck trailer. And yes before you ask I have done it myself.

I've backed up,to hook up, and not have the trailer jacked up just enough to hit the tail gate --when it was down__ and bend it right in the top center a couple times....

Drove home with a full load of cows with the trailer door just latched with the slam latch. Didn't pop open but a person sure shouldn't do that.
I have a B&W roll over hitch. One time I forgot to lock it in. I loaded the tractor on the trailer. The front of the trailer seemed to raise up as I walked the tractor on. Well it lifted clear up on the safety chains. The ball was hanging off the hitch in the air. A little scary for a minute or two.
