Yrlg Heifer Pics Jun 5, 2018

Postby Silver » Tue Jun 05, 2018 8:27 pm

Snapped a few pics of the heifers I managed to see on the way through to go over some fence today. Not sure where the rest are but probably not too far away.

We got 1.25 inches of much needed and very welcome rain yesterday, hopefully the grass starts popping now.

They've come through winter well, have they been joined yet?

Nice looking bunch! Glad to see some more colour on the board. :) I guess they are mainly Limousine and Simmy?

Silver - great group of heifers. Are these mostly Jan/Feb yearlings? Bred yet?

Thanks Jeanne. These are March / April yearlings. The bulls are with them, the fourth picture has a bull in it. I should have zoomed the pic before I posted it. I'm the worst picture taker in the history of photography.
Bulls were turned out on May 23.

Thanks, we use Simmie, Simmie x RA, and some RA bulls, on a herd that was up to 6 or eight years ago very heavily Blonde d'Aquitaine.

That's what I was figuring. I wish I had the problem of not knowing where my cattle are in the pasture! Good for you Silver!
