Another guy from Central Texas
We built a ranch 13 years ago when my wife and I retired and started a herd of registered Angus. We run a cow/calf operation and use AI with good results. I notice several other ranchers on the forum in close proximity to our location. We are always looking for ways to streamline our operation and look forward to reading the threads of the forum.

We are North and a little West of Lampasas by 32 miles in an unpopulated area. Rolling hills and next to the Lampasas River. Goldthwaite, Hamilton, Gatesville, and Lampasas are all the same distance from the ranch. My hometown of Brownwood is 65 miles Northwest of us. Driving on Hwy. 281 at times can be a real pain. DFW folks who travel use 281 and call it "I-35 Alternate."

We used to use the alternate I 35 route because the food was better. The scenery was also much nicer.

If you have driven down 281 from the North, then you have gone through our adopted home town of Evant, which is the home of 400 solid citizens.
