Many people think Austin is close to center of Texas, but they probably have never driven out to the extreme western or northwestern edges of Texas. USGS says geographical center of Texas is right outside Brady Texas. When someone says they are from the center or heart of Texas, most of us assume they are from near Brady. I've seen a sign or 2 where Llano also claims that title.

I'm just up the road from Bend 30-40 miles in the area of Star and Evant. Just joined the forum today. We really need to stay on our toes in this crazy business that we are in and I think the forum will help.
