Waste nothing

Postby Badger7420 » Wed Jan 11, 2017 12:04 pm

I don't like to waste anything but I lost the calf this morning I was wondering if there's anything I can do with the body like with the hide or bones or anything like that I do a lot of craft work and stuff or even for dog food

Could skin it, salt it, and have it tanned. But it would cost a lot more than it would be worth.
Dog food should be okay. Or coyote bait.
Sorry about the calf.

I will tan it myself. I am almost positive that he died from scours is it still alright to cook it and give it to the dogs.

The only possible end result of treating all animals like people is that all people will be treated like animals

Dogs will do just fine! Some even like the scours themselves    Guess that's why they call them dogs!

If you're willing to put in the time, I'd skin the calf and tan the hide yourself, especially if it's a neat color! I have a Hereford calf hide in my cattle hauler camper and it adds a nice touch!

Money can't buy happiness, but it can buy cattle and that's pretty much the same thing as far as I'm concerned! ;-)
