Almost New Here... Not Really

Postby WestieGirl » Tue Jan 24, 2006 10:52 am

I know that I have posted a couple of posts on here, but I figured since there was now this handy dandy New to the Board thinger I would actually introduce myself and say Hi to everyone!! I spend my days sitting on my butt infront of this darn computer and stumbled across this site and it is just what I need to keep the boredom away while I am at work...I'm a receptionsist but really wish I could be at my Mom and Dad's working my butt off taking care of the cows and calves...but hey I got to save money to build up my herd somehow!! And this place is perfect..cause I really miss the classes that I was taking in college so reading up about all of the cattle stuff takes me back to the learning days..not so long ago..and keeps me fresh on stuff (that is the best way I could think to describe it sorry). Not only that but I have spent alot time looking up some of the differnet grasses and such that there is no way that they would grow here in the frigid south of Saskatchewan, but you folks have all over the south..this place is a learning experience that is for sure.....Thanks folks...and talk to you all in the future!!

Oh don't worry about me there Bud having to save up that much money to buy cows I've already got a start at 6 cows that are set to calve somewhere in February or March. That is what the herd is sitting at till I can save up some money to either buy myself a nice bull, or start renting some land or buy some...the parents are getting tired of me leeching grazing and bulls offa them....or like I have stated before the prince charming shows up with enough land for me, my cows and, my horses :) ;-)

Stocker Steve, Its not the quantity of the cows so much as it is the quality, of the cows, bulls and the the babies that they can produce for me!! But that is only my opinion what do the rest of you think? :D
