They are. I added them to my trailer i bought last winter, and am not sure I would do it again. The selling point for me was that lumber quality has gotten terrible and they are not not as likely to rot or break like a regular board.
They lifetime lugged floors do have gaps between the boards...
My math says you are hitting your 2.5 lb/day target for protein with a little extra.
30 pounds of hay @ 7.5% protein = 2.25 lbs of protein.
4 pounds of feed @ 14% protein = .56 lbs of protein
2.25 + .56 = 2.81 pounds of protein per day
In my opinion she is just hungry. Assuming that hay bale weighs 1200lbs, in a perfect world she is only getting 20lbs of hay and .8lbs of cubes per day.
Figure in some cows being more aggressive and others more timid, I would expect the aggressive cattle to maintain and the timid to loose body...
