    Scales and Rodents

We don't get to move to the farm quite yet but I wish :ROFLMAO: Thanks all for the conduit. I did find some people recommending the braided sleeve covers as well that seem to correlate with the steel wool theory. Might just do all three and really irritate the rats

    Scales and Rodents

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this question, if it should be somewhere else please let me know! We have the Tufner alleyway scale, but three years ago rodents went through and destroyed the wiring. We were leaving it outside, but apparently that's not the way to do it with...

    American Aberdeen Angus

It's pretty standard, I like them at the 60's range but the heifer is doing her job well so I'm happy. I do love me some Simmi's though. There's a moderator that's a simmi x aberdeen called Cerveza. He's a cool dude

Last one was a small 75% moderator and she was one of the smallest at 51 lbs

She was bred to a red fullblood and gave us a 65 lb calf. Our fullbloods flirt around 55-60. She went copy and paste lol!

We've only had two non Aberdeen cows on the farm. One was a Hereford and the other is a British white mutt. Once we got into the 45” bull range she threw 80 lb calves every year. Her 50% Aberdeen calves throw in the 60-70ish lb range. The British white will be having her first one this year but...

    American Aberdeen Angus

Dang. Sorry to hear that. We’ve got four on the ground with three to go, but it was a strange year for us. One we had to pull (with some input of others and knowing she was a bottle baby, she is definitely stunted), and the other was just slow to eat at a 19° night (her dam has never giving us...

In the fullblood registration world, yes. If you don’t want to mess with dna, and the office and focusing on beef market I’d tell you to stick to the black ones. Red has a long ways to go. I’ve been told if bluey is on the paper five times or more their feet will be awful and the two I’ve had...

Of course! Anything to help anyone skip the troubles we learned. If any of those come out red and even on the mediocre side they’ll fetch a decent reimbursement back to you. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need reg #’s looked at. I love where this breed could go

I seem to forget to login here for months at a time and then I catch up in a day lol! We raise fullblood American Aberdeens and then we'll have a couple moderators (%) for our beef customers who like a bigger carcass. When you get good ones, they're fantastic but they do still need some work...

    Ear Tagging

Don't know if our system is right or not, or even efficient. Fullbloods/Purebreds get a blue tag Commercial/Crossbred get a green tag. Heifers left, bulls right. All of our cows get a number assigned to them. The first one on the farm 00, next 02, etc. First is the year and then the cow...
