Top Open Heifer:

Lot 47 -- $1,500 – Clower Oscar 1483. A 9-5-99 daughter of RR Scotch Cap 1483 out of a dam of GDAR Oscar 711 sold to Rachel McAdams, Spearsville, La. Consigned by Clower Farms, Raymond, Miss.

This is one of the most uniform set of cattle ever consigned to this sale. The cattle were all in excellent condition and many carry the service of top performance A.I. Angus Sires. One of the highlights of this sale was the donation of the heifer, Fawn Grove Blackcap E129, donated by Fawn Grove Angus, Tupelo, Miss. to help finance the 2001 Eastern Regional Angus Heifer Show to be held at the Ag-Center in Tupleo, Miss. She sold for $3,100 first time to a group of Angus breeders and enthusiasts and then this group donated her back to the Junior Association and the second time she sold for $2,000 to Lena Farms, Sam and Sharon Brown of Lena, Miss. Carson Farms, Russell and Patsy Carson of Independence, Miss. donated five straws on their bull, SF 6807 Traveler 7060 to go with the heifer.
